Rock Solid lightweight insulator

This is the jacket that got me hooked on synthetic insulated jacket. While I've always loved lightweight down jackets for around town or inside my hard shells, I bought this jacket because of its steep sale and as an alternative to my Patagonia Down Sweater, and boy did I get what my money's worth. While the Down Sweater is slightly warmer, this jacket beats it in both breathability and comfortability. This is a perfect jacket as a mid-layer for skiing in zero Fahrenheit days and as an outer layer for light insulation when hiking in shoulder seasons. Both the outer layer and the lining are made of stretchy and soft material which made moving in this jacket so much more comfortable than the baffles of my down jacket. The build quality is rock-solid as I haven't had any problem after wearing it throughout the three seasons in the past year skiing, hiking and around town. Another great part of owning this jacket is ease of maintenance, as I can basically wash it with any other synthetic garment, and I don't really need to worry about getting it wet in the rain as opposed to my down insulation. Features-wise, I love the cinch cord in the hood and hem, the soft fleece material in the pockets and around the front collar. A few things that I feel like it can improve upon is that firstly I wish this jacket can be packed down into one of its pockets so that I can save more space in the backpack when I take the jacket off. It would also be great if this jacket has pockets on the inside, but it does have a useful exterior chest pocket so it's not a huge problem. This jacket is also not as breathable as a fleece mid-layer but it's also more windproof so I guess that really just depends on personal needs. The look is subjective, as I got the black and light blue colorway and have received comments on both ends. The jacket does look just a bit boxy but really the fit is great as it is pretty consistent with size small jacket from big brands like Patagonia and TNF, and I've had no problem running and hiking in this jacket. Overall, 100% worth as I got it for $100 when it was on discount. A budget light insulator that offers supreme comfortability and some protection against the elements with solid construction and requires little maintenance. Definitely would recommend as it is 100% worth for the price and really a pleasant surprise.

Excellent all around jacket

I have owned this jacket for almost a year now and I have been loving it. It is an excellent midlayer for ski/snowboard touring in the backcountry. Packs down small and is lightweight and keeps me warm during windy transitions. I have used this on cold multipitch climbs and I love that it is helmet compatiable. I wore this climbing some offwidth/chimney cracks and was scrapping this jacket all over some sharp granite. It came out just fine without any snags or rips. My go to jacket for almost all adventures

This has been a great jacket for me! Ive used it on the skin track on Sub 10 degree mornings to keep warm, Really cold days in the resort it makes a great midlayer while standing in the lift line and sitting on the chair. This jacket has also gotten many compliments at social events when using it as my main jacket for the night. Really impressed!

Great Jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The jacket is great at blocking wind and fits super comfortably. It's not too warm to wear indoors when stepping inside for a bit. The arm length is long enough for mobility and the cuffs slide easily over watches/gloves. One suggestion would be to add a double zipper so it can be stuffed inside itself and pack way easier.

Almost Perfect

I love this new Backcountry jacket. The synthetic insulation is just the right amount for your everyday cool weather nights and not overbearing for a mid-layer on working ski days. The arms are a good length with enough room to reach for holds on the cliffside without too much movement up and down your arm. The one thing that I wish Backcountry would do for this jacket is to have a solid black color. I love the black and grey that I have, though.

One Jacket to Rule them All

Blown away by how much I love this Jacket. It is super lightweight but incredibly warm at the same time. Best of all it actually layers really well under my ski shell which is what I bought it for in the first place. Definitely something I will find myself wearing on a daily basis this winter now that we finally have snow in the forecast. The hand pockets have a fleece liner so they are nice and warm when out and about. The chest pocket bag is behind the insulation so I can throw my phone in the while on the mountain which allows it to stay warm and not die in a mater of minutes. Overall a great jacket that is very functional for not only skiing but daily life!
